This Is Not Your Daddy‘s Tablet Stand
What the heck is this? It feels like it was dropped down to me from the future. It’s a precision instrument for holding up a tablet or magnetically attached smartphone. It has unusual capabilities that often border on the supernatural. I’m not kidding.I tested this with a 12.9-inch iPad and a iPhone 17 Pro Max, and both of them were held up with such security that I had nary a worry. The most unusual artifice coming into play with this piece of top-secret-military-grade equipment: its ability to hold fast to my desktop as if it were glued on, but at the same time I can still rotate the base around (even while it’s practically super-glued to the desktop!) to position it just right.Take a look at the video to see what I mean about this uncanny capability. These are some seriously magic suction cups! I have never seen anything like it, and I used to work with a magician. Beyond that, I can position even my heavy 12.9-inch tablet in unusual permutations, and the thing just keeps holding on.Rest assured, my iPad was not going anywhere unless I absolutely wanted it to. This is an ideal stand for an iPhone with MagSafe capability, although it doesn’t charge the phone. For that, you must plug in a charging cable. What’s the catch? I wish I didn’t have to deal with those clamps, but most tablets are not as magnetically talented as smartphones. So I had to conjure up some serious personal muscle to tighten its clamps if I wanted to place my iPad in an unusual position.I noticed that it does extremely well as long as you don’t tilt down the bottom part of the tablet too far. If you haven’t tightened its holder enough, the device will slowly sink further down. But when I torqued it with all my might, it held fast and was not moving unless I gave it a gentle nudge. I wish it were a little easier to deal with this issue because my arm wrestling days are long over. I’m simply barely strong enough. You might be.However, if you want to attach a smartphone that’s magnetically equipped, the package includes a second attachment that doesn’t depend on clamps, and plays nice with phones that can do such things.I used my iPhone 17 Pro Max’s MagSafe capability to test this, and that circular puck grabbed onto it and didn’t want to let go. That’s a handy feature, too, which I use as a desktop tripod when shooting videos with my iPhone where I need to demonstrate an object while holding it in both hands.I am mesmerized by this thing. I’m using it all the time now to hold up my tablet, and it’s especially handy to have next to my main monitor, using an app that makes it so I can use the iPad as a second screen for my computer. It’s able to position that second screen in just the right place to enhance my workflow.I’m grateful for this exquisitely well-designed object, and even if it weren’t as useful, I would still admire it for its astonishing precision, magical capabilities, and downright good looks. All I can say is, WOW.

    Solid and dependable
Well, I finally replaced my tablet, so the next step was to get a new stand for it. Daily, I am mulititasking at my desk, so it is helpful to have my tablet accessible and upright, as I am working on my computer. There are two ways to hold devices with this stand. I prefer using the magnet. It took no time at all to prep the stand and to place the round magnet on the back of my tablet, which has a low-texture vinyl case on it. I’ve had no problems with the magnet sticking to the case. In turn, the magnetic stand does a great job of holding my tablet upright and at the perfect height for easier viewing. I can change the angle of the stand forward or backward and place my tablet in the horizontal or vertical position. The stand is weighty and has little suction cups on the bottom, so I’ve had no unpleasantness with tipping over. I should mention that I don’t think the suction cups were designed for heavy-duty suction, where you have to pull hard to release the pressure. But just as a way to give a rubbery, non-slip bottom to the stand’s underside. So if I need to reposition the stand, I can easily control it with one hand, without it moving too far because of simple a nudge, and at the same time, it’s not scratching my tabletop surface. This AboveTEK stand is so solid and well-assembled, that I don’t foresee having any quality issues with it. I’m very happy with my selection.

Good but some of the joints are tight
This works as described. It is well made and seems to use quality parts. My only complaint is that some of the movements are hard to do because the clearances are really tight. For example, the top joint behind the iPad is really hard to get to angle straight/flat. You have to pull so hard it feels like you are going to break it.

Clamp & Magnetic Tablet Stand with Suction Base — Easy Setup and Perfect for Phones & Tablets
I’ve been using this 2-in-1 stand for my Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra and Ipad; it’s super convenient. I get two ways to mount device: a clamp for tablets(iPads) and a magnetic head for phones/tablets(iPads) with built-in magnets. It even comes with metal rings if device doesn’t have magnets for sticking. What I love:- The build quality is premium. It’s made from solid aluminum, and the hinges move smoothly without any noise. I cantilt and rotate it exactly how I want.- The suction base sticks firmly to my desk (as long as it’s smooth and clean); it’s rock solid.- The clamp fits my iPad perfectly and holds it securely. I’ve also used the magnetic head with my Samsung Galaxy S22Ultra (with a metal ring) and it snaps on easily.Heads-up:- If you use a thick or rugged case, the magnetic head might not work well.- It’s designed for desk setups, so don’t expect it to stick to textured or curved surfaces.Final thoughts:This stand looks sleek and professional, great for watching videos, displaying product shots, and trade-shows. If you want something sturdy, flexible, and good-looking, this one is worth it.

Modern look that matches premium hardware.
If you’re looking for a sturdy, great-looking desk stand for either tablet and phone that offers substantial adjustment and flexibility, this 2-in-1 unit is it. The stand offers an ambitious and flexible dual-mode design, it works both with a clamp for tablets and a magnetic ring which makes it excellent for desktop use. The build quality is made of strong aluminum, a heavy base or suction anchor, and smooth joints for positioning. This is a great premium desktop mount for offices, receptions or home workstations.

    Functional, Flexible, and Steady
This stand is sturdy, looks good, and stays put. I’ve used various plastic stands and they never last, so I was looking forward to trying this one out. The aluminum build is solid and the suction base stays in place. It adjusts to any angle and the stand can hold most tablets. Plus, it works with MagSafe cases. I mainly use it in the kitchen with my iPad for recipes. The stand is functional, flexible, steady, and does exactly what I need. I would order it again and I recommend it to anyone looking for a great stand.

This stand is expensive but it does indeed look and feel very premium. The base is heavier than I was expecting and the joints are overall very sturdy. You can tilt it however you prefer, however I don’t think I would manage to use this stand for drawing because I am used to having the iPad ever so slightly lifted from the desk, so I don’t need to lift my arm/hand.From the packaging, to the colour and the attention to the details I think overall the design does reflect the price and I recommend it.

I needed a sturdy, reliable stand to hold my large tablet on my desk, primarily for viewing recipes while cooking or for use as a second screen while working. This stand is built like a tank; the entire structure, including the base, is heavy and made of metal, which gives it excellent stability. It does not wobble or tip, even when I am aggressively tapping the screen. The adjustability is fantastic. The arm has multiple joints that can be tightened to hold the tablet at almost any angle or height, and once tightened with the included hex key, the position is locked rock-solid and doesn’t droop over time. The clamp securely holds my 12.9-inch tablet in its case without issue. The base is quite large, which contributes to the stability but does take up a decent amount of desk space. The cable management slot in the arm is a small but useful detail for keeping the charging wire tidy. This is a premium, heavy-duty solution for supporting large tablets that are constantly interacted with.

This AboveTEK 2-in-1 stand is incredibly sturdy and definitely not wimpy. It’s really well-made, and you can tell a lot of thought went into the polished aluminum design. Swapping between the magnetic head and the clamp is simple, and the magnetic hold is firm and secure—perfect for watching clips or taking video calls. It’s a smart, durable, and professional-grade stand ideal for both office and home use.

This is not your run-of-the-mill, wimpy phone or tablet stand. It’s seriously sturdy, well made and polished, with a lot of thought evidently having gone into the design. It is super stable, as well, whether with a phone or with a tablet. And it looks super sleek!Having said that – it’s probably overkill for most use cases, and at nearly £60, it is a fair bit pricier than most tablet stands. But if you need something like this, if you’ve tried and discarded cheaper stands because they just didn’t work that well for you – then it’s truly fantastic and I would say worth the money.

I got this 2-in-1 stand mainly to use with tablet and occasionally my iPhone 15 Pro. It’s built like a proper sturdy bit of kit — all aluminium, nicely machined edges, and hinges that move quietly and hold their angle perfectly. The stability is very impressive, thanks to the suction base that clings really well to a clean desk and doesn’t wobble when you tap or swipe on the screen.Swapping between the magnetic head and the clamp is simple, and both feel secure. The magnetic hold on my phone was firm enough for video calls and watching clips without sliding down. For my tablet, the clamp part fits snugly and the padding on it prevents scratching the actual tablet. The tilt range is really good too, from -90° to 90°, which helps with drawing or reading at different angles. However, for something costing nearly £60, it feels a bit steep given there are cheaper options out there from some familiar top brands, that offer similar adjustability, albeit with less premium materials. It’s also quite heavy, and the suction base only works on very smooth, non-porous surfaces so there’s no chance of this sticking to a textured desk like mine. This is where it loses a star for me, as my worktop is only slightly textured and it doesn’t even stick to that for more than a few seconds. However, it does stay put thanks to the weight of the whole thing, so it’s still very stable. I can accept paying the extra money for the extra quality of the materials, but as my whole worktop is slightly textured I’m not getting the full value out of it’s key feature, which to me is the strong suction base. Thankfully for me, I got this for my son, and his desktop is a completely flat wooden desk and on that it sticks perfectly fine.Overall, it’s a very sturdy and professional looking stand that fits a range of devices well, but you’re paying extra for build quality and design rather than added functionality. I would only recomend spending this much on the product if your worktop is totally flat and smooth, without any texture, as that’s where it will work the best and you will get the best value for your money.
