Nice inexpensive desktop mic for remote work
I have anywhere between 4-10 phone calls every day at work, and frequently record tutorial videos or other audio clips for marketing purposes, so the quality of my audio is pretty important. I’ve gone through a couple headsets with mics, but either had the mic fail or the quality just not live up to my expectations, long-term.I was looking at springing for either a Blue Snowball or Yeti, but decided to start with the Amazon mic here to first make sure that my desk and headphone setup would work with a small desktop mic. I’m pleasantly surprised with the quality of this thing, though, and don’t think I’ll be moving onto a Blue unless this suddenly fails.Pros:- Easily accessible mute button on top- Very light and easy to move when you want to- Rubber tipped legs make it difficult to accidentally knock over- Sound is clear- Long cableCons:- There’s not a lot of flexibility with the legs – you can’t position the mic really higher or lower, it’s just kind of where it is. It might be too low for some folks if you don’t mount it on an arm. I have it on my desktop in front of my keyboard, though, and my natural speaking/sitting distance works well.- The cable isn’t a standard micro USB or USB C cable, so if it’s too long for you (as it was for me) you have to deal with it. This was a weird one – I was planning to swap in a short micro USB cable, because the distance between the mic and my laptop is very short, but I ended up having to cable tie it all together and hide it under a laptop stand.- On that same note, that non-standard cable is REALLY long, so if you AREN’T putting it on an arm, you’re going to be annoyed.All in all, a good purchase and I’m looking forward to using this for many months to come.

I’ve received only positive feedback on the sound quality, but that is compared to a headset mic so the competition wasn’t steep. For the price its very solid, and it’s lasted me a long time.

Flimsy build quality, great sound quality
I originally bought this because my headset did not have a microphone. It broke so I swapped to a Blue Yeti. This is basically the competitor to a Blue Yeti for me, so I’ll be comparing it to one.Much better price, same or better sound quality for gaming voice chat. However, the big difference is build quality. This thing has plastic legs that WILL break if it takes any abuse, falls or even pushing down on the legs a bit. They break on the hinges so it’s not able to be fixed with glue. It’s also missing some features like mic mode switching, and a volume dial. It does have a mute button, though.

Sounds great, tripod breaks
This was a good purchase for the first year. Plug it in and it works. I use for running classes and meetings over videoconference systems and recording spoken presentations, so cannot speak to its quality for music, gaming, etc. This would have been a 5-star review except for one thing. One of the legs broke off the tripod and could not be replaced/repaired. So although the mic still works, it has to be propped up against other things and looks dumb.

Best Price/Quality I’ve Ever Used!
I’ve tried several mics before including ones attached to headphones and most have varying degrees of quality. I am either unimpressed with the quality despite what kind of deal I got on it, or I’m impressed with it but disappointed in the price point. But if you’re looking for a mic with outstanding quality for how much it retails for then this is definitely a great contender.The mic itself has a fantastic sound quality to the point where when I was talking to a friend over Discord, they found it disconcerting because they thought I was standing right next to them. The stand is sturdy and high quality but only includes one fixed standing angle. The mute button is appreciated but people have told me that they can hear the actual button press being picked up over the recording. It is also fairly small which means I can keep it close to my face without it being obstructive to my view.I managed to snag it on sale for $18 and with a $15 gift card, $3 for a microphone with the quality of a $75 dollar mic is a great deal for anyone.

I looked for the cheapest okay microphone to record music – thanks to the exchange rates. After watching millions of reviews at podcastage, I decided to get this one – and surprise, surprise! As Bandrew as well said, Amazon’s engineers actually really hit the nail!The cons: Background noise, rather low gain below 60%, and the need for a pop filter.The pros: Everything else. I mean, literally everything else.I found the mic to work best with string instruments (violin and guitar at least, to be precise). If you’ll use it with wind instruments, you’ll be better off with something better. To the best of my knowledge, wind instruments are the hardest to record – which is why a lot more is needed to be spent on them (I play harmonica, tinwhistle and flute, with the last being my main instrument). I neither have nor play other instruments, therefore cannot say a word about the rest.For spoken word, you can’t go wrong with this mic. That’s for sure. Anyway practically any mic is good enough for that.Why five stars? Because1- It’s 40$,2- It works great with guitar and violin, and is acceptable with wind instruments,3- Is easy to set up and run,4- It’s 40$. Oh, I said it before :/Get one if you’re into “basic” music-recording. You can get a better mic once you’ll be making money from it. Believe me, knowledge of Audition is no less important than a good mic for music recording – and unless you know how to edit things, you’ll better spend less on hardware and develop yourself in software. Who knows, maybe it’s your limited editing capabilities, environment, lack of proper sound-proofing, or such that causes not-so-great records?

I ordered this because I am now teaching online and the quality of the microphone on my computer and my headset isn’t great. I read great reviews about this one but was somewhat sceptical because of the reasonable price. It’s lightweight, adjustable and has excellent sound quality. Go for it.

Bought this to replace the lame microphone on the webcam. It’s very compact and VERY light. The desk stand is a little flimsy, but you may well be using a proper boom stand, which it will fit with no problem. For the price paid there are 0 complaints with sound quality – check YouTube reviews for a better idea of this. Unidirectional, so will reduce unwanted noise.There may be better mics, but you’ll have to spend at least twice as much as this for the privilege. For most people in need of a decent mic for online chat, steaming, or gaming, this will do the job very well.

I originally bought the Amazon Basics Desktop Mini Condenser Microphone as a gift for a friend. After hearing how clear it sounded, I was impressed enough to get one for myself—to use when I’m away from home and can’t rely on my usual Blue Yeti setup.For such a small and inexpensive microphone, the sound quality is excellent. In most situations, there’s hardly any noticeable difference between this and the much larger (and pricier) Blue Yeti. Voices come through clearly, with minimal background noise, and it’s perfectly suitable for video calls, recordings, or dictation.It’s compact, easy to set up, and does the job without fuss. A very useful piece of kit to have on hand, whether as a travel option or a daily microphone for basic needs.
