Great additional screen for work or personal computing!
this was a great deal on amazon resale… brand new in the box, complete and nicely discounted. I plugged it in, powered it up, set it as a second monitor and it’s all good to go. I’m expected to work from home occasionally, which I hate because I live in a small house and having just the monitor on my laptop is impossible. They gave me a docking station and 2 big monitors but not only do I not have room for that, but I don’t want to look at it cluttering up my house. This monitor is the answer – it gives me enough extra screen space to work with and when I’m not working from home, it goes in the sleeve and into the cabinet so I don’t have to have cluttered work reminders on my off time. It’s nice to have a quick easy option anytime I want an extra screen for personal computing time too.

Light as a feather!
It’s light as feather! Perfect for travel. I got the HDMI & USB-C dual port since my laptop doesn’t work with just the USB-C alone. Make sure to check if your laptop needs HDMI for second monitor before picking a model. If there is a lightening bolt icon next to your USB-C port on your laptop then it can use just the USB-C port for both power and image. Unfortunately, mine does not. I didn’t know about this when I purchased it. I need a second monitor with an HDMI import to get the screen to sync with my laptop and the USB-C port to power the second monitor. I got a special adapter so the USB-C power for the second monitor can connect to a USB-A and that connects to a USB-A port on my laptop while my laptop uses its one and only USB-C port for the laptop charger. This second monitor comes with both the HDMI and USB-C cables plus a cover to travel. Highly recommend.

Great device
I had been oblivious to portable monitors until recently when I was away from home for an extended period. I was helping a family member with ongoing treatments, and we were in and out of hotels, apartments, back-and-forth to the hospital, etc. for almost 2 months. I work on my computer 100% of the time and have a lot of phone calls that require screen sharing. While it can be done from just the laptop screen, a second/third screen are immensely helpful to manage windows, see multiple things at once, and lets me dedicate once screen to items I’m okay with clients seeing and the other screen to emails/messages/etc.I first attempted to bring around one of my standard monitors, which worked for a little bit. I would set it up on Mondays when we first checked into the motel, and then pack it up on Friday when leaving. It was fine for a while, but it is bulky to tear down/pack up, and I couldn’t use at the hospital. So I started searching and found this reasonable priced portable monitor on sale for about $80. And what a difference it has made.It’s small, but that’s the whole idea. It doesn’t take up much space, is easy to carry, and fits inside my laptop bag. It only requires the USB-C (which it comes with) connection for both power and communication (as long as your PC supports it), so you don’t need to use/carry the HDMI cord. I am so glad it has a right-angle connector on one end, helps keep space available next to the laptop. The stand it comes with is high quality and easy to attach/detach. It comes with both a protective sleeve for the monitor and a nice felt bag for the stand, which all fit in my laptop bag with my laptop/power cord/headset/mouse. I basically had a mobile office packed into my bag.As for performance, the screen quality is just fine. It won’t blow you away with 4k resolution or high refresh rates, but is clear to read for productivity.The brightness works okay but could be brighter. That is the only real issue I have with it, and why I only gave 4 stars. But honestly it’s fine for what I need it for and I haven’t found a situation where I couldn’t see things because it was too dim.At the end of the day, it is exactly what I needed, and I am kicking myself for not thinking of getting one sooner.

The monitor has good build quality. Plug and play, no issues in connectivity using Type C cable. Works equally well with USB A cable when drivers are installed. Very portable being lightweight. The color reproduction is not great but good enough for general use as an extended display.

If you’re sitting on the fence on whether to pay the premium for an ASUS zenscreen or save a few bucks and settle for one of those cheaper OEM alternatives, I’d highly recommend you to just get the ASUS. I too, went for the cheaper ones, and ended up hating the quality and returning them. This model from ASUS works as advertised – build quality is fantastic, screen quality and color are also much better compared to the cheaper OEM models.
