    Solid headphones
I see the black Friday deal is the same amount I paid in March. It’s very deceptive when companies do this, and label it as a “Black Friday deal” making you think you’re getting a good price.Anyway. I like these a lot. The battery life is super long and the sound is really good. They do a good job at muting outside noise and they fold up quite small. The biggest issue I have is comfort. They are not the most comfortable headphones. After sitting on your ears for 20 or so minutes, I find myself adjusting them. After 30-40 minutes my ears start to hurt. I can see discomfort after an extended amount of time, but I wouldn’t expect to feel discomfort after less than an hour. I know they have an option that fits over the ear, and I would probably opt for that one if I’m ever in the market again.I don’t know if they are worth the price. I haven’t tried other brands, but they were very easy to set up on my phone, and they connect right away when turned on. Overall I reallylike these a lot, aside from the discomfort and misleading “sale” price.

Great quality and peace of mind with applecare
I’ve had these Beats Solo4 headphones for quite some time and really love them. I’m glad they come with AppleCare+ for 2 years, after a few sweaty workouts, they stopped working but were replaced with no issues, which gives me peace of mind. They are quite easy to connect to an iPhone via Bluetooth. They’re a little snug, so my ears get tired after long listening sessions, but the audio quality is excellent. While they don’t have active noise cancellation, the bass is solid, and they block out enough background noise without disturbing people around me. Battery life is awesome, and the design is sleek and stylish, I love the color.

A year of use and then they die
A few good things first. My favorite thing about these headphones is how long the battery lasts but takes no time at all to completely charge. They’re almost never charging because the battery lasts so long. Connectivity is seamless between devices (phone and computer). The microphone is good, doesn’t sound grainy or like you’re far away. The sound quality is not the best but for an average music enjoyer, it’s certainly nothing to complain about. I don’t particularly care about noise cancellation but they are fairly decent at keeping outside noise low while listening to music and watching a show, but they are definitely not designed for people who are looking for complete silence. Now here is the kicker: either I have the worst luck or these headphones are not meant to last very long. I have been the owner of four different beats headphones. My first pair when I was freshman in college were a gift from my brother; wired and the most expensive tech I had been given aside from the phone my parents bought. I loved the sound quality, aesthetic, and overall reliability. As soon I saw they had a wireless option, I wasted no time in snatching those up! Turthfully could not remember what gen they were but after a year of use, they would not hold a charge and listening to anything was difficult because everything was slightly muffled and not very crisp. Figured I had overused them or listened to my music too loudly too often so got a new pair, the Solo 3s. Again, after one year of use something happened. I turned them off after using them like normal with absolutley no issues and then they never turned on again. The light didn’t even pop on when I put it on the charger thinking they were dead. Well, no biggie becuase the Solo 4s were new and on sale so I purchased those August of 2024. Now, here I am October 2025 with a pair of headphones that I have used less frequently than previous headphones due to a new job taking up a lot of my free time and moving out to live on my own. I go to put them on and wouldn’t you know, the right side does not work, absolutely no sound. Tried turning them off and on again, tried charging, even tried using the wire on my computer to see if it was the bluetooth acting wierd. Nope. Deaf in the right ear overnight with no issues prior. It is very annoying to feel like I have to drop a couple hundred bucks once a year just for headphones when someone else is willing to spend a little extra on a product that will last five years. Beats also does not have the best sound quality currently on the market, and is outpaced by MANY other brands, even cheaper brands, but I felt that I liked them in the past maybe I just had a few bad eggs. However, I’ve come to realize that three different sets from three distinctly different generations all having a similar issue is not just some bad eggs but a flawed design. It is upsetting but I suppose I have finally learned my lesson and will be looking into Sony or Bose for my next pair.

Good Headphones for Most, but Not for Me
It’s been a while since I last owned a pair of Beats and I thought these would be better, when in reality, it was just more of the same. The only real good thing I can say about these is that they do, in fact, have great battery life and their design is sleek, but other than that, they just weren’t for me.These Beats Solo 4’s do come with a carrying case along with the charging cable and an AUX cable for wired playback, which I appreciate. The headphones fold up compactly and they are easy to transport, but I do have one issue with the folding mechanism that I’ll talk about later. The headphones are lightweight and small, and the design is great. The headphones are easy to adjust for your head size, and the ear pads have modest cushioning. The Bluetooth pairing is simple, and on my iPhone I was immediately prompted when they were powered on to connect them. Now, let me talk about the sound quality. Unlike the older Beats which were mostly bass focused, in my opinion, these headphones were much more neutral with a flatter EQ that I generally prefer. It makes game audio richer when listening for enemies, it makes background instruments in songs more vibrant and focused, and it just allows you to hear things more how they truly sound. Except, something went wrong with the treble or the midtones or something as they were extremely sharp sounding. Most music sounds great and it is harder to notice this sharpness unless the volume is loud, but for listening to podcasts or watching online videos- that sharpness is extremely noticeable, especially in people with softer speaking voices as they sound almost whispy with sharp “s” and “t” sounds. These sharper voices almost make it sound like people or hissing as they talk and I just couldn’t get over it. Admittingly, this issue is much less noticeable when using them wirelessly with my phone where I have more direct control of the EQ, but when using them wired on my PC or through my PlayStation controller, that ability to adjust the EQ diminishes. For movies or well produced content, some of that issue is more mild, but as a huge online content consumer, who mainly uses them wired, it was just not my taste. I know some won’t have this issue, and I just might be more sensitive to it, but that was my experience.Furthermore, we have to talk about my other complaints. First off, the hinge mechanism for holding the headphones is a bit dangerous if you have your hands near it when storing them, as I got my finger badly pinched a couple of times while doing just this. That may not be an issue for some, but I feel like I won’t be the only person to experience that. Additionally, the comfort could be a bit better. Despite the headphones being lightweight, the clamping force on the ear cups is still very strong and after just an hour of wearing them I would begin to get migraines from the pressure. My head is fairly normal sized, and even when adjusting the headband to be looser, that experience didn’t stop. The headband itself is also not that comfortable. The headband, which has a silicone-like padding, gets very thin and flattens out a lot as your body heat from your head warms it up. After a while, you will feel that the headband starts to sink a bit more into your scalp before it becomes uncomfortable. Once again, all of this is just my experience, but worth mentioning. The main thing I can say is that the battery life is actually really good. They seem to charge quickly, and I haven’t had issues with leaving the charger connected which destroyed one of my older Beats Studios from years ago. The battery seems to last forever as you scroll through videos, watch movies and play mobile games before that recharge is necessary.Overall, I ultimately returned these headphones. Not because they were bad, but just because they weren’t a good fit for me. The sharpness in some voices over the wired connection was hard to ignore, and the migraine inducing pain from the poor comfort also wasn’t worth the subpar experience I was having. While these headphones may still be great for a lot of people, I had to share my thoughts to be as honest as possible.

I’m a huge headphone collector always looking for good quality sets. A very long time ago I used to own the first beats generation whose quality was amazing… over time I started using other sets and brands like Sony, Bose, etc.. I have a lot of sets for particular purposes. Yes is right that these don’t come with noise cancelling and that music doesn’t stop when you take them off… but I was not looking for any high end/premium headphones, but instead something more simple, classic, that could deliver good sound quality. It is also true that its bass is not what it used to be, but this is to help to provide a better and more crisp sound. Apple indeed made a downgrade and I’m not a full fan of downgrading bass, but being able to use the spatial sound feature in these is great, it makes music much more enjoyable with clear vocals and you can actually distinguish instruments better than just having a full blast on the bass.Again, I wasn’t going for a noise cancelling set, and its “passive” noise cancelling is good enough (not for very loud places like airplanes though) but that’s why I have other sets in case I want noise cancelling. This stays on pretty well while working out and even though is not specified it does feel sweat resistance and they feel pretty comfortable.Love their size btw, small, compact enough to fit in a my already bulky backpack. It came with a very nice case/pack where I can fill with a few more stuff, so that’s a big plus. Not sure other models, but I loved my blue ones. Now… even though they feel quite comfortable, not sure they would be in the long run… they get a little less comfortable after an hour of use or so, bringing a little pressure in your ears, particularly the right side near the charging port (something odd about it makes it uncomfortable). Cushion is not as stiff like other brands, but it’s ok… not the best, but manageable.Overall I do give these a 5 star because of the price/quality value, their sound quality, durability, and how convenient this are.Is probably not a must buy, but I would buy them again.note: My wife tried them and now she wants a pair too LOL, she loved them… So will buy another set just for her.

These were a gift for my daughter and she loved them, she can ignore everyone now who tries to talk when these are on her head. The noise cancelling is perfect and excellent for gym use and sitting in your room ignoring the world. Well presented and protective box. Colour is bang on for picture. The sound is up there with Bose and all the other leaders in headphones. The rubber around the ears is soft and doesn’t absorb the sweat.
