Battery life sucks
Horrible experience. Worked great for 1 month. I bought it 1 month ago and the watch does not keep the charge now. The battery is supposed to last around 16 days, now, 100% charge lasts 24 hours. Very disappointed.

Do not buy this watch.
I received the watch and was excited because I loved my Instinct 1. Out of the box, it’s an awesome looking watch, tons of useful features and comfortable.Then it updated. The update caused it to just constantly trigger a low power mode and wouldn’t stay connected to my phone. I sent an email to Garmin and the response back was that the problem was already addressed in a forum post and I can’t even keep either try that or just wait for an update to come out and fix it.I attempted the forum update, but since my watch wouldn’t stay connected, it couldn’t update and attempting to do that, the software version now shows 0.0.0. Garmin not only wasn’t helpful, but further broke the watch firmware after ignoring the fact I told them that the watch wouldn’t stay connected.I have put so much faith in Garmin products and this experience has lost them a customer along with more customers with the connections I have in the firearms and training industry. Unacceptable customer service for a company to just say “deal with it and wait” instead of working to fix the issue.

Warning to anyone interested
Want to give my honest review im s huge of fan of garmin and watches im a wildland firefighter and some of the best quality watches ive had instinct 2 regular, and instinct 2 solar, i got this watch thinking it would be a nice upgrade with new tech was i wrong this is watch is inferior to the 2 series the battery dies quick i turn off gps and a lot of setting to see where battery stands it lost 20% in one day without using any of the tech , second the value of this watch is so much more it feels cheaper quality i have the 2 and compared the band feels cheaper the 3 is lighter feels less rugged the buttons feel cheap, its comfortable and size is nice but other than that the display quality is the same charging is same the heart rate sensor is same despite garmin having a new more up to date heart rate sensor for anyone who wants to buy this is subjective but im in outdoors all the time and trying to get most life out of my watch id save your money with this watch

Limited Features for the price.
The garmin pay does not work with Amex or Capital One. That’s one of the main reason I bought this. Disappointed.

Terrible Bluetooth Distance
Watch is trash, just walked 10’ away and it disconnected, constantly disconnects, Bluetooth is terrible. Don’t buy.

Glitchy or falty New release. Wait to buy.
My new Garmin Instict 3 Tac jumps between 100% charge and 0%charge disabling most of the watches functionality. This happens every few minutes making the watch completely useless. I troubleshooted the issue but nothing helps. I’ve owned every instict, inreach, and even the MARQ, but I have ran into this much difficulty. Disappointing. Maybe wait a while untill you buy.Update: software issue with the last update. If this is happening to you the only way to fix it right now is to opt into the Beta program on the Garmin Connect website to unlock the next update early. You can opt out of the Beta program with a single click at any time.

My brand new Garmin Instinct 3 Tactical Solar was a dud
I just bought this watch from Amazon about a week in a half ago. My watch constantly goes into low battery mode even though it is fully charged. I upgraded the firmware to the latest version after starting it. When plugged in it’ll say 100% and 43 days but after you unplug it, it goes into low bat mode. I worked with Garmin trouble shoot tech Chat for almost an hour and Travis had me reboot, redownload the new firmware and finally reset to factory. It looked like it was working but about 15 minutes after the Chat ended the watch went back into low bat screen mode. Finally Garmin said to send it back. Spoke with Sports & Gadgets, who the watch came from, and they sent me a pre-paid return postage through UPS. I returned it through UPS on June 5, 2025 and am awaiting my refund. This is my second Garmin watch. My first I2 tactical was terrific and had no problems. Hope to try again with another I3 when the price is right.

Ich hatte schon mehrere Uhren. Über Apple Watch zu Fitbit Produkte 2 Stück, danach die Venu 3. Ich muss sagen bisher für mich die beste Fitnessuhr wo ich hatte. Alle meine Uhren hatten Touchscreen bisher. Die Instinct 3 hat keinen touch. Ich muss sagen ich komme damit viel besser klar, weil ich so oft ungewollt auf den Touchscreen immer kam und dann irgendwas war. Ich nutze die Uhr zum Fahrrad fahren, Joggen und kopple die Uhr mit dem Garmin Brustgurt im Thaiboxen.(Kopplung funktioniert gut)Die Uhr hat alle wichtigen Fitness Funktionen und Werte Anzeigen( mehr wie die Venu 3)Der Akku hält brutal lange. Mir reicht er knappe 14 Tage. Ich habe die Uhr immer gekoppelt mit dem Handy, mache 3-5 x pro Woche Sport wo dann das always on Display an ist und habe alle Messungen angeschaltet wo möglich sind. Absolut super Laufzeit !Für mich eine super Robuste Sport / Outdoor Watch. Wenn man mit der Uhr Sport, gute Akkulaufzeit und stabile Messwerte will einfach mal testen finde die Uhr echt super.
