    Really cool mic!
I got the MAONO PD200W and it’s honestly awsome. It looks super cool with the RGB lights and the sound is crazy clear even when my room isn’t that quiet. I like that I can use it wireless or just plug it in with USB or XLR, so it works with everything. The battery last forever too, I used it like all day and it didn’t die.The MaonoLink app is also really fun to play with, you can change the sound, add some effects and make it how you like. It’s super easy to setup, I didn’t even need to read the whole manual lol. Definetly one of the best mics I’ve tried, totally worth it!

    Excellent Quality and Ongoing Support!
The Maono PD200W Hybrid Wireless Microphone has completely exceeded our expectations. The sound quality is crisp, clear, and reliable — perfect for both studio and on-the-go use. What truly stands out, though, is Maono’s incredible post-sales support.Even long after our purchase, their team continues to provide quick, thoughtful assistance whenever we have a question. It’s rare these days to find a company that not only delivers great products but also stands behind them with such care and professionalism.Thank you, Maono, for continuing to raise the bar with both your technology and your service!

great quality mic for an even greater price. awesome customer service
This item is so great for many reasons. It is super easy to assemble. It was very simple to get the mic connected and working right away. I also made a mistake by not ordering the version that contained the RX Lighting receiver, which is compatible with my current iPhone. However, I reached out to the team and was offered a receiver immediately. I appreciate their quick response and detailed/informative direction on how to solve my issue. I will be purchasing again soon.

    High-Quality Mic!
This is my first dedicated podcast mic, and I’m impressed with its sound quality. My other microphones are studio mics (used for karaoke) and lavalier mics. So, although I’m not unfamiliar with microphones, neither am I an expert. The unboxing of this product is a pleasant experience. It is packed/insulated extremely well. Please note: there are two layers within the box. I almost didn’t notice this! The stand is on the very bottom, and you kind of have to remove the first layer of Styrofoam to see it.Setup was a breeze. You just screw the stand into the mic housing and the base onto the stand. I tested the mic with a wired connection to my PC. My PC didn’t acknowledge the mic at first. I ended up needing to unplug it, restart my PC, and then plug it back in to the mic and then to my PC’s USB port. So don’t despair if your laptop doesn’t recognize it immediately. There is free software available for this mic, however, my PC is plenty bloated already tyvm, so I used free Audacity software to take the Maono PD200W for its test run. I found it simple to use, though it did take some playing around to understand the dial button’s functions and how to switch between them. The big radio button/dial is used for three things:1) Noise cancellation (off – low – mid – high) and this is reflected with a green ring2) Mic gain, which is supposed to have a white light (in truth, it’s a pale blue), and3) Headphone volume which is a dark blue ringTo set the noise cancellation, you press the big dial down for about 3 seconds, until the light turns green. Then you can adjust that setting by turning the dial. The other two features (mic gain/headphone volume) are just a quick press of the radio button to toggle between the two settings. The mic has a cool light that encircles it when the mic is on. The default setting is blue, but you can change it to be what you want by giving a quick press on the power button on the back of the mic. I have mine set rainbow colors, and they’re in motion. You can also turn this light off completely if you prefer. There is a small button just above the radio dial that will mute the mic for you. When you press it, the ring light flashes red and then turns off, but the light around the radio dial stays red. It would be my preference for the ring light to stay on and stay red to make it even more obvious to me that the mic is muted. But I’m the kind of person who doesn’t realize they’d already pressed the record button on their camera and ends up stopping the recording right when I think I’m starting it.The PD200W model comes with one of three accessories: a lightning receiver (for wireless connections to iPhones 14 and prior), a USB-C receiver (for wireless connections to Android phones or iPhones 15 or newer), or a camera receiver. Mine came with the USB-C receiver. And if the ability to choose between wired and wireless and PC, phone, SLR camera weren’t enough, the back of the microphone features an XLR plug that you can use to connect to an audio interface. It’s also a nice touch that the wired connectors for this set include an attached dongle you can slip on and off to switch between USB-A connection and USB-C connection.Lastly, the primary question I have about this mic is this: since it can work wired OR wirelessly, is there any concern in terms of battery life if you just leave it plugged in 24/7? Or is it better to occasionally let the battery drain? This level of equipment is an investment, and it would be nice to know how to best take care of it to prolong its life.P.S. I have no idea what the round black rubber rings (gaskets?) are.

MAONO PD200W hybrid wireless podcast microphone. This was on sale for £129.99 when I got it. This is a good microphone that can be placed on a desktop using the supplied base and extension pole. From setting it up and connecting it to my phone, it was a very simple procedure. I popped the receiver into the USB C port on my phone, it fit perfectly, even though I use a case on my phone and was immediately recognised and began working. I turned the microphone on by pressing and holding on the power button on the back and then opened up the recorder app on the phone. The sound quality was very good, I started off with the mic at a distance of 12 inches from my mouth facing it, then moved it away to 24 inches, still facing it, then the same distances but facing 90 degrees away from it and you couldn’t tell the difference. The recording was clear, the audio sounded great with no additional noises picked up.Sometimes we’ll go as a family on a paranormal investigation and now I can take this mic with me and set it up on a table and record audio of people doing the Estes method. The sound quality is great, the battery life is long, you can turn the lights off so it doesn’t interfere or bother people. It takes literally a couple of minutes to unbox it and set it up on site. The only thing I noticed was that it wouldn’t let me playback the audio on the phone whilst the receiver was plugged in. I do assume that if I plugged a set of headphones into the back of the mic that that would allow me to hear it back, but if not, it’s not a problem.Haven’t used it yet, but the Maono Link software sounds really useful to be able to use with this.

This microphone system stands out for how versatile it is. It works in three different ways, that be wireless, USB, and XLR, which makes it easy to fit into just about any setup, from a home desk to a proper recording space. The option to switch between these modes means it’s not tied to one specific use, and that’s probably its strongest point. The sound quality is described as warm and clear, with the dynamic capsule doing a good job at cutting out background noise. People who use it for podcasts or voice recording mention that it picks up speech naturally without harsh tones or distortion, even when you’re close to the mic. You won’t sound like them microphone eating airport or train station announcers do. The noise cancellation feature seems to help a lot in less than perfect rooms, keeping voices clean without needing heavy software filtering. The wireless function is something that gets mentioned a lot in reviews. The range is long enough to move about a bit while recording, and the connection stays steady. It can even connect two microphones to one receiver, which is great for co-hosting or interviews. The battery life is long, around sixty hours, so it’s not something you need to worry about midway through a session.Another plus is the companion software. It lets you adjust EQ and reverb, or switch between preset modes depending on what you’re recording. It’s straightforward and adds a nice level of control without being overly complicated. The RGB lighting is optional and can be turned off if you prefer something more understated, but as younger generation would say, it’s cool (not sure they still say this).Considering what’s included and the quality, the mic, cables, stand, receiver, and adapters, it’s quite a complete kit not only by amount, but also reasonable price. Okay, the price can feel steep at full cost, but it’s very good value when on promotion, so at least that if you’re feeling a bit short on what you’d dish out for it. For anyone setting up a small studio, streaming setup, or just looking for a reliable mic that can grow with their needs, this one seems a very sound choice.

I have several use cases for microphones, I produce and edit video, I run a YouTube channel and I have just started to dip my toe into the world of Podcasts. To this end I have a cupboard full of the things ranging from small labs to beefy shotguns from the likes of DJI, Rode, Saramonic and Sennheiser, yet for some reason Maono has completely slipped under my radar. As part of the Amazon Vine program I was offered this, the desk standing PD200W, to review and figured it was worth giving it a go for my static work such as talking heads and podcast. And boy does at shine at this, particularly given its wireless capabilities.Unfortunately, given its newness, the desktop software for the Mac is not yet available – c’mon Maono, we need this – and as I don’t possess a Windows workstation I’m unable to utilise it fully with my MacBook or MacMini yet, though I can still record into Garageband, I’m just missing the finer controls. The iOS software however is available so no such issues with my iPhone or iPad and it is a very smooth and intuitive app to use allowing adjustment to things such as gain and noise cancellation on the fly, speaking of which, the noise cancellation is excellent with 3 selectable modes, I find the middle one to be the perfect balance for my needs.Voic e reproduction is crisp with, so far, no popping, despite no pop filter, I can only assume there is one built in or software is dealing with this in the background. The Mic itself is a solid all metal affair that comes with either a boom arm or desktop stand, I have the stand which has a nicely weighted base and is rock solid in use. There are a couple of controls on the mic itself but to be honest I haven’t felt the need to use them as they are replicated in the phone/iPad app which are much more convenient for me.I’m looking forward to testing out the desktop app once it becomes available and am hoping there is some way to integrate this into my stream deck for ease of use, but regardless of this, I have now found my new favourite desk microphone!

Some products are an easy five star recommendation, and this is one of them! The box proudly proclaims that it’s the “number one best selling Internet microphone worldwide”, and while I don’t know the basis for that claim, I don’t doubt that it’s true.Unboxing feels like a quality product. It’s made from metal, has an included stand, and just feels very solidly built. You can use it with your own stand or boom arm, but the included desk stand is very nice, and at a good height for talking. This really shines in a couple of areas. First is audio quality. I’m not an expert, but the test recordings I made were clear, rich and warm. The second area it shines is versatility. I used the USB interface for recording, but this also has an XLR port, and even wireless audio, via the included dongle and an app. I’m really hear for the wired connection, but I can think of a few situations where that wirelss mode might come in very useful!Overall, this is a great microphone for podcasting, video voiceovers, or just those who want to sound great on video calls. It’s well made and versatile. So while it’s not cheap, I do think it’s excellent value for money.
