    Great switch no complaints
Installed easy plug and play. My speeds went up instantly. I don’t have gigabit internest so I can’t say top end speeds but it can push 1/2 a gig. Solid quality from a trusted brand. Functions as a switch should. Desktop size, sleek black looks fits in with any equipment.

    A Netgear of High Quality
This is a very functional, high-quality, adequately sized, relatively fast, self- powered switch, with facilitates great connectivity to seven devices directly. It is important to note that it does not overheat, like another brand that I previously purchased.

    Excellent Performance
This NETGEAR 8-Port Gigabit Ethernet Unmanaged switch works great! It’s incredibly easy to set up – just plug it in, and you’re ready to go. All 8 ports deliver consistent, fast gigabit speeds, which is perfect for expanding a home or small office network. I’ve experienced no dropped connections or performance issues, even with multiple devices running simultaneously. It’s a reliable, quiet, and efficient solution for anyone needing extra Ethernet ports. Highly recommended for its plug-and-play simplicity and robust performance.

    Solid Little Switch
I added this 8-port switch to my home setup a few weeks ago, and it’s been running smoothly ever since. Setup was as simple as plugging it in—no software, no settings, just instant connectivity. I’ve got a mix of devices hooked up (laptop, smart TV, gaming console, and a couple of cameras), and everything runs fast without hiccups. The unit itself is small, sturdy, and has a nice weight so it doesn’t slide around. It runs completely silent, which is great since it’s sitting in my office. For the price, it feels like solid value—reliable performance without paying for bells and whistles I don’t need.

    NETGEAR 8-Port Unmanaged Switch – GS308
NETGEAR 8-Port Unmanaged Switch – GS308 is a great little switch if you just need to split one Ethernet line into 7 or less more lines (one port is for the incoming line to be split). But that’s it, just that simple, plug in one Ethernet line from your source (home cable modem in my case) into additional lines to feed additional routers and that is about it. Simple, quick, and easy to install, just plug and play, lol. Mine runs 24/7/365 and NEVER gets warm much less hot, never stops working, lights keep blinking to let you know it’s still working, well the power light stays on steady, but the data lines blink with a wink to let me know I can depend on them, no worries. However, NO software which is actually a good thing if you just want a simple splitter with zero ability to manage or control what gets fed to what, when, how, etc. At first that was all I needed, now I need more and find myself upgrading again. I started with a 5-port switch that had 1 input port with 4 output ports, and no management software. I expanded and needed more so I bought an 8-port which added 3 more ports, nothing more, nothing less. Now I need to be able to manage some of my ports so I will be getting another NETGEAR 8-Port Switch with options for management from my desktop, laptop, smartphone, etc. and a little security built-in among other things which I find more necessary every day. I will be sticking with NETGEAR for the solid construction and long life reliability of their products. I will leave a review for whichever model ends up running with my system so I can speak to their software and management solutions. This is only for my home networking solution and served me well, so no need to change brands, just a little more money for more features that the next models up the NETGEAR line have to offer. It will be either the GS308T (simple managed switch version) or maybe for a few dollars more (what a great name for a movie) do a little future proofing with a GS308P or GS108PE-300NAS if I don’t breakdown and spend even more for extra security, but then it gets more complicated with the software and I like keeping things as simple as possible while serving my actual needs. NETGEAR has never let me down and you definitely get what you pay for over TP-Link (NEVER AGAIN) for example. Stick with what works, brands you know and know they stand behind their products. You cannot go wrong with NETGEAR unless you get a model without enough ports or without port management if you need it, otherwise this model will serve you well. NETGEAR switches with their metal cases are far superior to the ones with the cheap plastic cases which can and do break as well as overheat in my personal experience.

    Good 6-port GiBit router
Easy Plug and Play install. Well-made body. port Indicator lights work.. Speed by-pass seems consistent. I have no means to do a full technical test but to date this unit a performed as described. Price-point was competitive. Shipping was fast. Small user guide folder with typical 2-point type is included for anyone with a magnifying glass and the desire to read exact specs or Dos and Don’ts.

Saved me hundreds of $$ in undamaged equipment, and, it still works! (partially)
Over the summer, we got hit by a lightning strike. While most of our network equipment was toast, and one device hooked up to the switch was toast, this switch seemed to isolate almost everything, preventing damage to 7/8 devices down the line. One port that was damaged by the power surge, and, the rest function normally. I don’t remember the configuration at the time, but I recall the port that got broken was the input from the rest of the network. In comparison, other switches by TP-link, did not fare so well, and every device connected was toast, costing me hundreds, perhaps thousands of dollars, if you count the labor to get everything back up and running again. While this is not lighting strike proof, evidently it will sacrifice itself, but more specifically, only the port(s) most directly affected, saving you thousands in repair and replacement costs after a power surge. I turned around and bought another one. My other switches from other brands? Completely toast. The devices connected to them? Also toast.

Needed a large 16 port switch to replace the two older 8 port switches I use. So easy to install and with the short flat cables I also bought, the installation is so much neater. Just plug and play, no setup required. I also replaced two other 8 port switches and now my whole hard wired system seems faster but cant honestly prove that.Only thing I dont like is the power cord at the back of the switch but that is a minor issue. Would buy again. My router and switches are all netgear.
