Versatile, Reliable, easy to USE
As a employee with the worlds largest supply chain company, I am constantly traveling to help our distribution sites and 3PL sites with new warehouse openings, special projects, and physical inventories. The scan avenger is a invaluable tool. It is light and easy to use. Its ability to scan different types or barcodes and 3D barcodes is a key as many of our customers use different barcode formats. Its wireless capability gives me the flexibility to scan from a forklift and ladder quite a good distance from the laptop I use. I recently had a battery issue with the scanner after a few years of having this scanner. The customer service at Scan Avenger were excellent. They resolved my issue immediately! Very Happy with this product!!

Fast Scanner
So far, this has been an excellent scanner for 2D barcode use. Instantly recognizes 1” size QR codes from 8” away, even when the physical codes are printed adjacent to each other. Unit comes with the internal battery, a USB dongle, a USB cable for charging / wired data transfer, credit-card sized QR codes to turn sound off or on; vibration off or on; and slow down the read speed for Bluetooth connections. Also has a quick-reference sheet with links to the full manual, as well as more QR codes to program internal features on the wand. One nice feature is the ability to store scanned data if You’re forced to work out of range from the dongle. Scanning head contains two light sources – a white LED for 2D codes, and a red LED for bar type codes. Both come on as the trigger is pulled. Impressed with the unit so far – will update review as I use it on my printed inventory tags.

Terrific Scanner
Purchased this for our school library. Easy to set up and works well. Phoned the help number with a few questions and received helpful and timely answers. Definitely recommend, and the price is reasonable.

Good scanner, EXCELLENT technical support
We bought this scanner in order to scan the ISBNs of our large personal library and bulk-load them into LibraryThing. It serves that purpose well; it’s easy to hold, fast to scan, and holds a charge for a really long time (we’ve had it a week and haven’t recharged it yet). More importantly, since it’s a “wedge” scanner, meaning that it’s seen by a computer as a keyboard device, it really does work with any computer you have that has a USB-A port, Windows, Linux, Mac, or Chromebook. The instructions that come with it are scanty at best, and the UI of “change settings by scanning a barcode” is clumsy (but don’t ever lose that little book of barcodes!). However, that’s more than offset by the fact that their tech support is really, really good, and speedy. Like, we were having problems syncing it with our Mac Mini and their tech support got back to us in less than 3 hours with instructions that fixed the issue. Some non-obvious things that will save you time asking tech support:- you don’t turn the scanner off, it goes to sleep on its own- if it’s not already in “storage” mode, it will not wake up from sleep until it can sync with the dongle- the radio dongle has a theoretical range of 300ft, but that doesn’t take walls and floors into account; the signal is easily blocked by them. I recommend making use of storage mode.

Great product at an amazing price!
I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of this scanner. Super easy to set up out of the box, only took a few minutes to sync up with my point of sale system. Super fast scanning and also reads barcodes off of a smartphone screen, something my last scanner could not do. Also works perfectly with my iPad & Android tablet.Great price for what you are getting, and it actually looks good on my sales counter.

Disappointed with the Product and Service
I purchased this tracking gun expecting accuracy and reliability, but unfortunately, it failed to meet expectations. The device does not provide accurate tracking information, which has caused me considerable inconvenience. To make matters worse, I was charged $120, which is double the price of the item, and even though I only ordered one unit, I was mistakenly sent and charged for two.The product itself is subpar, and its functionality is unreliable. This has been a frustrating experience and a waste of both time and money. I cannot recommend this product to anyone looking for dependable tracking solutions. I hope the seller addresses these issues promptly for future customers.—You can modify it further if needed.

Great quality, fast, reliable!
Reads codes off my phone screen with ease. Plug and play.Long distance with a lot of configuration codes that are really useful !!The design is also interesting and different. Had a few questions for their support and they were really fast at responding and most of their support documentation is in the form of videos which makes it a lot easier to understand how to do configurations.Highly recommend!

Very good value, good support
I’ve never used a bar code scanner before in my home business so was baffled by the array of devices out there. I chose this because it was relatively inexpensive and the reviews were good. At this point I have to think there are not huge technical differences between scanners under $100. This one works great, has a long range, long charge life and easy to understand. Also, I had a tech question so emailed the company. Their support was fast, accurate, and courteous. Not sure what else you could ask for. Again, I’m sure there are reasons to buy really expensive scanners, I just can’t think of any. For the money, this does EVERYTHING I need.

Really impressed with this. Firstly it feels well made, and setting up is a doddle. Initially I used the supplied USB cable (printer style at the scanner end, so does not fall out easily) – then moved to the Bluetooth dongle when at last I found it (in a tiny blue bag stapled to the scanner packaging, that I’d put in the bin). Charging if through the USB cable of course.Connecting to Bluetooth was just a matter of using the barcodes printed in the instructions. Don’t lose those instructions, as contains the barcodes for lots of other settings, e.g. turning the beep on/off.It works as a USB keyboard – the computer knows no difference. So on my Linux computer, I simply opened up a text editor (see video) and the barcodes and QR codes appeared. What you do with them is entirely up to the software you are using – so presumably, to enter in a code, you’ll first need to have the focus on wherever the code is to be entered – just like entering by hand on a keyboard. That also means it’s perfect for producing your own barcodes, then entering them into e.g. a spreadsheet – say if you want to produce tickets for an event, and have per-seat codes. All very nice.Overall, a very useful and high quality item.

I had a problem with a couple of units that had poor fitting USB cables. I reported them just to let the company know their might be a problem. They reported back that they had never seen this problem before and requested more info. All of their communications were very prompt and courteous and the matter was very satisfactorily handled by ScanAvenger . All units now work great! I will definitely be buying from them again!

My new favourite equipment for ICT asset management. Works well with my iPhone and my laptop and the screen scanning is perfect. I honestly cannot express how happy I am with this scanner at this price point. Recommending to all my fellow sysadmins just the add to their service bags.
