Just buy it. Quality, Simple, Effective
This is my second time purchasing this camera, our home is up to 10 cameras now that protect our perimeter. After years of playing with wifi based camera security systems I can’t tell you how happy I’ve been with the Ubiquiti cameras. I’ve had my home system for about 3 years with Ubiquiti and i have 7 of their cameras mounted outdoors in the Arizona sun for multiple years and these devices just keep on going. I can’t speak highly enough about the Ubiquiti systems. Easy to administer, easy options to customize your experience. I installed an NVR for the veterans resource center that I volunteer at and the remote monitoring makes it an amazing option for small businesses and for home use.If you’ve ever had a battle with your Homeowners Association this is how I’ve defeated them on multiple accounts. I’ve been accused of parking on the street over night, pulled footage and sent screenshots, that shut them up. If you’re shopping for this product I don’t need to sell you on security cameras, but if you’re on the fence between this kind of system and a wireless based IOT camera system I promise you, your connectivity issues will all fade away into a distant bad memory when you install wired cams. Just no better solution.

Another Great Ubiquiti Purchase
I love that Ubiquiti products are so simple to plug-and-play. I’ve bought several items from Ubiquiti over the last few years and have been thrilled with the setup and reliability. The quality is definitely sufficient for my residential needs (just keeping an eye on things while I’m away). There are a lot less expensive options out there, but I’ll always pay for the Ubiquiti experience whenever I need to expand my setup.

Great Camera
Awesome camera, great field of view, solid price point. I really prefer this type of mounting vs the bullet. Very tempted to swap all mine out for the better fov. Was sold out on UI website, wasn’t much more here after factoring shipping. This replaced a G4 instant, the night vision is much better, and the picture wasn’t noticeably worse.

The tamper lock may not engage
Over all this is a good camera. The smart detections are not real accurate and I needed to add about 10 to the before and after detection to make sure I can see what was detected.The way the plastic base is rather flexible once screwed to the wall the camera may not mount or screw in very well and the lock may not engage if the wall is not perfectly flat which is annoying and should be a consideration if it is going somewhere that someone can easily reach it.

I have been using unifi both for personal and professional use. I’ve deployed over 50 set ups and these cameras are excellent bang for buck. Not much else beats them for price to performance and ease of use. The only downside is the camera needs a mounting box.
