Does what it’s supposed to do.
Using this in my classroom for about 2.5 weeks. Students should have their devices charged, but the culture of responsibility of the students isn’t where I expected it to be. Filling in at the halfway point of the year is enough of a tasks. Battling the battery dead excuse every hour is much easier; but I’ve been able to mute it once I given them options.By the end of week 2, I feel like I’ve squashed that issue. I’m down about $65 total in different charging ports and cables. But I feel better now that I’ve shoved the responsibility back on the students to be prepared for class and get my assignments done. (Half my students aren’t allowed to take devices home and there’s a shortage of cords in the charging cabinets.)The power cord is generously long, although it’s on the slightly loose side of staying plugged in. But that could be the surge protector. However, the device doesn’t have a ground prong to make it more snug.Adding a few 6′ and 10′ charging cords helps reach much further into the room and service more students. Added to a long corded surge protector, I could probably reach the middle of the room.I’ve not tried the USB C slots yet, as I don’t want the students removing them from the school cabinet charging cart and causing another issue. I’ve only used the 2.4 ports. It gets a little warm, enough to notice it with 3 devices plugged in. I’ve not had more than 3 since I’ve got another multi (20) USB port charger and the school charging cabinet.I bought a table top multi (20) port device for cellphones and be used for weekend charging of more devices.This one helps with solving the need to keep devices charged and the students at their seats.
