Absolutely Terrible
Ohhh my Goodness I don’t even know where to start. I’ll start with positive just to be grateful for life itself. The audio isn’t that bad. (as I’ve seen some say in other reviews) If there’s something good I had to say it’s that.. however…. After having owned Kindles, Fire Tablets, multiple Alexa’s and Amazon TVs and my experience with all of them I don’t know how in the world I actually gave this a chance. You’d think for being Amazon they would be functional but in reality they are such garbage that I promised myself I’d never buy a Tablet or TV again. Yet as I said before I fell again thinking it’d be different. The concept of what All of these shoulddd be is GREAT, but I don’t think they have figured out how to make these work to meet their idea. All Amazon electronics’ interface and software is sooo sorry and poorly crafted. Not to mention the complexity and depth of configuration. Even when configuring to your liking, this thing in specific will not reflect the changes made. A lot of options are unresponsive. It sometimes glitches and overlaps the time and date and sometimes the weather and will display it twice. I been trying to remove the rotation on the main screen from time to weather and although I selected to not do that, it will not change this setting. Very frustrating. Hard to understand what the settings even mean sometimes so I resort to google for some explanation of them. If there was ability to give no stars id still give it one because for me in specific I was looking for a clock and alarm clock so this will work for that and expecting it did a little more than that is why I got it. I also like the drop in option and my kids can talk to Alexa. Secondly its the thought that counts and I’m not aware of any other device that has the intentions that this one does . After this I will no longer purchase anything Amazon. It’s sad because as I said, the idea is good but the quality is faaar not. This should not cost what it does. Maybe half the price but not this. I REALLY HOPE THAT AMAZON PAYS WHAT IT TAKES TO HAVE THE RIGHT TEAM FIT TO MAKE THESE DEVICES WORTH IT AND USEFUL. I think it’s time. As of right now, they can’t compete in the game. Google how many Amazon items are sold in a day. Even if the founder gets a $1 from each, the amount made daily is wayyy more than enough where these problems shouldn’t even exist. Invest in good quality. (This isn’t even considering a commission based on $ amount which I’m sure is really how they profit) oh also the galaxy color is very fitting for a kids room. I’m done. Hope ya’ll do better.

Using it for security and kid
While I was researching Alexa’s security system I noticed that this device was exactly the same (with a slightly bigger speaker) as the regular Amazon show 5 except it had features for kids and came with a free subscription to Amazon kids + for a year… having a 2 and a half year old I thought that I’d get this device for my daughter to enjoy. Now, the only problems I found with this system was that it’s extremely complicated to set up with other cameras. I worked as an Apple tech support advisor for nearly 5 years and would consider myself very tech savvy. I already had a Roku camera, a blink doorbell camera and a geeni cam that I use next to my daughter’s crib when she’s napping and/or sleeping… so I thought it would be easy enough to connect all of these devices to this and have one connected security system. But it took me over a month to get all 3 devices working together and then we changed our internet provider which threw the entire system out of wack. I still can’t figure out how to get my blink doorbell to show me a live view of my front door… I had to sign up for a blink monthly subscription and a Roku monthly subscription in order to get to use all of the features but it’s still not working as smoothly as I’d like it to. I realize that the continuity that Apple provides is better than any other services out there but it is extremely expensive and I liked the price point on this system. After a few months I can say that I do plan on getting myself set up on apples HomeKit in the future because I absolutely love the ease of using my iPhone, iPad, MacBook, Apple TV, AirPods, my wife’s beats ear buds and our AirTags… the continuity is second to none and after trying out this complicated Alexa set up it’s clear to me that I’m best sticking with Apple. I would recommend this to friends who are more familiar with Alexa’s system but I would not recommend that my mom or someone who is not tech savvy use this… if I could get it set up and working the way that I know it can then I’d be happy but the complicated system is just too much to learn.Update: 3/8/2024Ok, so I realized that the issues I was having had more to do with the blink doorbell camera… I ordered the sync module for that and that should resolve those issues. In the meantime I was able to get my outside Roku camera, the camera that I use to monitor my daughter and 2 smart plugs to work with the Alexa system. Also, my daughter has begun to show an interest in the kids + service which I think is great. So I definitely should at least increase this rating to 4 stars.

Mi mejor amiga para las rutinas de mi hogar
Es mi mejor amiga y la de mis hijos, la pidieron de regalo de navidad y a sido una gran ayuda para las rutinas de mis niños, los despierta por las mañanas y enciende las luces para ellos, los manda a dormir por las noches y ambienta la habitación para que se preparen para dormir, puedo enviar comunicados a la hora de comida o si necesito llamarlos, toda las mamá deberían de tener al menos una en casa, el tamaño fue el adecuado para la habitación de mis hijos y el color Les encantó y pareció divertido.
