I want to cry at how crazy the difference is between EF & RF. Don’t get me wrong EF still has some amazing glass, but finally using and RF mount lens on my R6 Mark II and my goodness the difference is literally night and day! 10000000% worth the purchase, I honestly feel like I’m getting the sharpened, and functionality if the L version of this lens. Blow away man seriously, I am now official an RF fanatic!!

Good all-around lens, prosumer level, not professional quality
Good value for cost, but makes me want an even better, larger and faster lens. For the price point, though, it’s the most flexible lens you can get at f2.8. Main downsides are construction. Much of the body is plastic and it doesn’t have good weather-sealing. But you’d have to pay another $500-$1k for that.

Versatile, must own lens
A very versatile, quality native lens that can be used in a variety case of scenario. Definitely a must own for any level of photographer and videographer. Might be on the pricey side for beginners, but its absolutely worth the investment. Makes me use my other lens not as much.

Versatile Lens, Good Price, with a Caveat
A versatile lens with great color quality that I use just about everywhere. Being STM and not USM, the autofocus is sometimes just a tad slow for those fast-moving subjects. But, if you’re quick with your focus points and have your settings adjusted accordingly, it usually performs very well. Note that you will get slight vignetting and distortion when you shoot at the widest possible angle, so I recommend zooming in past 28mm whenever possible. Of course, editing tools work wonders in correcting these idiosyncrasies.

Budget Friendly Lens
Bought this lens for my EOS R8 and I can proudly say that it doesn’t disappoint. The quality, the focus speed, stabilization, everything you can think of are top notch for just being an RF. This lens is a good budget friendly lens as in comparison to the L series, which can be double or even triple in price. I love everything about this lens, definitely a top 3 purchase this year! Highly recommend.
