This company stands behind their products. This door handle worked nicely for about 5 months but then began to get stuck and ultimately failed. Although it was several months later the company offered me a full refund after I reached out. I am guessing I got a bad one because most people really like this lock (and so did I).

Deceptive/incorrect advertising
Deceptive/incorrect advertising:- Function: “Access requires a key…perfect for ‘customer only’ restaurant bathrooms”–no, it’s locked only when IN-USE is on. No way to make it locked and say VACANT. When VACANT is on, it’s always unlocked. So even if you only have 1 restroom and only use 1 key that you give to a customer each time, you have to rely on the customer to lock the door back up after they exit.. Nobody will do that.. That’s extra work and it will then say IN-USE, so other customers will think someone’s inside and keep waiting.- Color: The 3rd and 8th picture show a finish that’s the same color as the key, which is chrome or satin chrome, and all the rest of the pictures without the key also look satin chrome, but the lock is actually looks beige or nickel/satin nickel. They do say the finish is Satin Nickel on the 4th picture, but you really have to look for it. It doesn’t look nickel in any of the pictures.- Fire rating: Usually there’s a sticker or a stamp of UL cert/rating on the latch if the lock is fire-rated. Especially if it’s “commercial grade”. This one doesn’t have any of that, so the large pictures when you scroll down that show flames and “3 Hour Fire Rating” are likely false.A little strange that it doesn’t say their brand anywhere. Usually the latch at least has a stamp showing the brand name. This looks generic. Nothing wrong with generic, but you should know what you’re getting.Main reason it’s 1 star is because I wanted the function where it would be locked, but would say VACANT and would only turn IN USE when someone inside actually locks it, so the key to give to customers would not work when it said IN USE so it’s secure to those inside. Then it would work for customer-only bathrooms in public places, but this doesn’t do that (even though they said it’s perfect for that). The other reason is that I wanted what the lock looked like in the listing pictures, satin chrome, not what it is–satin nickel.

Kinda frustrating
The label in the middle continuously ends up halfway where it says it’s locked and not locked. Even though the door is unlocked.

couldn’t reverse handles
Unfortunately, my door hinge is on the opposite side of the default orientation. I figured this would be okay since the description indicates this door knob is reversible. The instructions on how to reverse the handles are not clear and I couldn’t get it to work properly. Ultimately, I installed it upside down, which works, but the indicator is harder to see. The installation would have been super easy if the hinge had been on the right hand side with respect to the exterior side of the door. The photos others have posted seem to show this orientation. I’m going to dock 2 stars for insufficient documentation.The materials seem to be good quality and the keys are the standard Schlage type.
