Easy to install with little to no maintenance required.
Decided to update my NAS situation to a 4-bay model (Synology DS925+) with 2.5GB Ethernet ports. Both of my desktop PC’s have 2.5GB Ethernet ports but my previous 2-bay NAS model only had Gigabit Ethernet as well as my Verizon Home Internet Router, so I was using an Netgear 1 Gigabit switch. I’ve been a fan of Netgear networking hardware for years so when I wanted to do this upgrade, it was Netgear without question. Now I have 2.5GB Ethernet between my desktops for transferring backups of their system disks contents as well as all my images taken with my array of Canon digital mirrorless cameras. The throughput is very noticeable but for now I’m still using the older 1 Gigabit Ethernet ported 2-bay NAS as a backup device and it’s still slower. Hopefully soon that will be replace with a NAS chassis that handle 2.5GB to take advantage of the 2.5GB witch connectivity. This switch was easy to install, basically unmanaged and plug & play.

Plug, play and enjoy the higher throughput!
For home use, I love the simplicity, reliability and performance of unmanaged switches. I recently upgraded my residence Internet service from 1Gbps highly-oversubscribed cable to symmetric 2Gbps XG-PON. This was the perfect time to upgrade from my old (but functional) 1Gbps TP-Link 8 port switch to a newer 2.5Gbps switch. The NETGEAR was literally plug and play – all my existing CAT5E cables work well with their 1Gbps downstream devices, and I did upgrade the upstream link to the eero Pro 7 router to use CAT6A to realize the full 2.3G symmetric service. Well done NETGEAR – great value, totally quiet, well-constructed and easy to install.

Flawless!
Easy setup, stable, consistent speed with zero errors. Connection is a breeze. The extra ports come in handy for future use. Great price.

You can see the speed difference.
Great speed increase over gigabit ethernet. Well worth the investment if you’re working with large files on a NAS or similar high transfer workload.

No complaints
Solid design. Have been using 5 of the 8 ports at 2.5GB with no trouble. Getting the data speeds I expect. And does not even feel warm to the touch, so heat doesn’t seem to be an issue.

Un petit achat suite à l’Achat d’un nouveau routeur avec 4 sorties de 2.5G. J’ai pu diviser une sortie de mon routeur pour avoir un total de 2.5 qui peut entrer dans le routeur.
