Great for Linux, Playing Videos, Teaching, Coding.
I got this for watching 4K videos on a big screen, coding with Python and Java, Video editing, and playing Minecraft.The first thing I did was install Debian Linux – I never let it boot into Windows because no one should be using that garbage anymore. The default install worked great. Battery life is pretty good – I can teach all my classes without plugging in. It hooked up to the Lego Spike Prime robot easily through Bluetooth, so we can code it in Python.I’m very satisfied with the speed and performance. I know it isn’t the fastest but for the price it is good, and it serves all my needs well.

Fails to boot
After two months, it started failing to boot. It would try multiple times and then fail. Occasionally it actually boots. I have no idea what the issue is yet. I’m in the process of creating a bootable USB thumb drive to see if that will let me get into the system more reliably so I can diagnose it better.

I’ve been using this HP Victus laptop primarily for design-related work like AutoCAD, video calls, and general tasks such as browsing and office use. While overall performance is solid and matches the advertised specs, I’ve noticed two key issues:Battery Life Not as ExpectedThe product listing mentions up to 12 hours of battery life under normal usage. However, in my real-world experience (no gaming, just AutoCAD basics, video conferencing, and browsing), I get around 5 to 6 hours at best. This is far below expectations. I’ve already raised a query with the seller and Amazon, but unfortunately haven’t received any useful response, just the standard return option. Since I’ve already started working on important files, returning is difficult.Touchpad Right-Click Feels HardThe right-click on the touchpad (used for things like Refresh, etc.) feels a bit stiff and harder to press than expected. It’s usable, but not as smooth or responsive as it should be.Aside from these issues, everything else is as described, and I haven’t encountered any performance problems. The laptop handles my work without lag, and the build quality seems solid.If battery life and the touchpad were better, this would be a near-perfect device for my needs. I just hope still now will get response from seller or amazon to these issue clearance !!!!????
