The very first, and most important is that their customer service is FANTASTIC !Yes I know, hearing that about an Amazon seller is amazing. They always return your calls and never rush you.Neglected one feature of this lock which may be important to certain people, it reads your hand and the veins in your hand to unlock the door. They say it’s much more reliable and more secure than Face ID, so that will remain to be seen, however the unlocking with the hand seems to work fine.Unfortunately, the first lock they sent had a defect in the fingerprint reader. Everything else seemed to work fine however not identifying your fingerprint was a major setback for me, so what they did was send me a new lock. I sent the old one back with a label provided, which was a big help!As an engineer, I can tell you without hesitation that this lock is designed beautifully. It has so many functions. It’s hard to believe that they are all in one lock.Fingerprint reader, key, accessible, code, palm/vein and a built-in doorbell. But what amazes me the most is that it has a built-in camera so you can see what’s happening outside your door. I haven’t yet found a lock that performs all the same functions so to me this lock may be very unique..The replacement lock arrived, they were on the phone with me for a half hour making sure that it was installed correctly and everything was working as it should. They definitely did not want me to receive another defective lock, but hey, what can I say this new lock works absolutely perfectly! The fingerprint reader is good as you can scan many fingerprints on it and they advise scanning different prints from your same person because sometimes a finger may be cut, a finger may be awkward to use so they advise scanning many of your fingers to be able to open the lock.The only negative quality, if you could call it negative is that the doorbell is just built into the front lock itself so all you do is hear the bell ring and answer the door. It does not forSend the information anywhere else or to your phone.As far as installation, it was fairly easy to install however, you have to be careful reading the instructions carefully, because if you make a mistake, the lock will not function as it should.I installed the first lock however, the second time I received the lock I had a Locksmith install it so I don’t have to bother again. He did a good job of installing it and now it’s working on the front door and I cannot complain.Discussing accessibility and installation, there were a few kinks for the installation, such as taking the wire out from the lock, putting it on the door frame and a magnet at the other end to discern if the door is truly closed. I really like that function because many times doors are closed just enough to register that they are closed however, this lock can’t do that since it has a magnetic switch showing open or closed door just like a standard alarm systemMy suggestion is if you want a full functional lock that does just about everything, purchase this lock and you won’t be sorry, plus they have the fantastic customer service so how can you lose?

Solid and fast lock, works with Home Assistant
This lock shipped quickly. It installed quickly and fit my door well. The app is straight forward and shows all the information needed. After a firmware update it was easy to connect the lock to Home Assistant. It’s only showing the option to unlock / lock. I hope there will be more options available in the future.The palm recognition is very fast. The fingerprint reader it very fast. The lock is solid and well crafted.

Very pleased with this device. Keeps door locked without thinking about it. The insulation on my door was past-due for replacement, and once I spent the $3 for new door insulation (10 minute install) the door aligns consistently, has no more leaks and auto locking is super reliable. Most doors/locks have their quirks, am I right?Now when I leave home, I feel confident wife is safe from walk-in intruders. And I can even lock while tucked in bed from the phone.While out of town, daughter needed in, and I can just unlock from my phone (hadn’t registered her palm yet, and she forgot her code). First off, let me explain that as a woodworker, I likely fall into the ‘high maintenance’ category for my doors. I built a $15k door for my last house that would have lost all of its appeal if I installed a regular handle/latch. I ended up with a key FOB remote to lock/unlock a rear mounted deadbolt – with a roller latch – and it was so perfect I vowed to never to go back. As we sold that house and needed to upgrade, I carefully examined the ease of use and ended up with this one. Here’s how it worked out – PALM VEIN works flawlessly, minor problem with reading my FINGERPRINT (I have big phalanges), numbered CODE is spot on, and the APP works perfectly thru or iphones, automatic notification of locking unlocking, and it likely works with Alexa for voice control, but frankly haven’t needed it yet so… But the final kicker here is that if I want to redesign this door or build another one, the simple sleek design will allow me to work around it fairly easily. Major thumbs up!!

I had a problem with the deadbolt initially. Lockin replaced the unit. Works great. Highly recommended.

EDIT: I am dumb. There is a big events button at the bottom of the app. You can view all the recordings and access there. The palm reader also identifies who it was that opened the door, so it’s not a gimmick!This is a biggest and heaviest smart deadbolt/lock I’ve ever used. It’s so tall, it nearly reaches the door chain above it. It’s the first one I’ve tried that uses palm vein scanning technology and makes for true touchless access. During the initial week of testing, the vein reading was nearly always instant and seldom needed a rescan. This gives me confidence over traditional fingerprint scanners that seemingly get less accurate over time and requires sensor cleaning to maintain that function.This door lock also features an extremely wide angle camera. The fish eye lens provides coverage of areas that aren’t typically visible on most door bell cameras. So this will be tremendously useful for checking on packages left under the door. The unit also has an integrated door bell and would be ideal for those that don’t have 16/24VDC wires going to their front door. It also features a big 5000mAh lithium ion battery for long run times. Battery life seems to go 1% a day, so I expect about 100 days of usage per charge.I also like that the “door open/close” sensor is integrated into the strike plate. So no need to stick on a sensor (essentially a magnet) on the side of the door frame.As for the app, it seems fairly polished and I didn’t find much bugs. Firmware upgrade went smoothly as is onboarding the various biometric scans and pins for each household member.Negatives, there are a few:1. It’s a tight fit for older homes with 1.5″ bore holes in their doors even after removing the spacer. Fishing through the wide connectors and three cables is also a challenge. Doors with more standard 2.125″ bore holes will have a much easier time on install.2. It still uses 2.4 GHz despite having an antenna facing the inside of the house. Opening the video feed takes longer than I’d like as a result.3. It does not record. The camera only does live feed. Despite advertising 8GB of storage, there is nowhere in the app to review footage based on motion events.4. Slow motion sensor. More often than not, it fails to capture the courier dropping off packages. The subject has to be directly in front of the door for several seconds for it to register and notify you in the app.5. Charging requires taking the lock offline. Despite there being a USB-C port on the exterior facing side, there isn’t one inside. So to charge, you need to remove the battery and plug the charger directly to the battery’s USB-C port.6. Exterior USB-C port (for emergency backup power) is not covered. Not sure how it would hold up in weather climates.Aside from these, I’m happy with both the performance and quality of the lock. It’s an upgrade to the U Bolt Wifi Pro I was previously using thanks to the new biometric access method. It can only get better if they addressed the issues I mentioned.
